The 1635 Household is a costumed history interpretation group specialising in the portrayal of domestic life in early 17th century Britain during the reign of King Charles I (1625-1649). Our volunteer members appear at appropriate heritage properties all over the country. We have worked with English Heritage, the National Trust, museums, private enterprises and local government educational departments.

Visitors of all ages almost always find something special that catches their eye and they take away a bit of knowledge gained and a memory of a glimpse into the past. A frequent response from visitors is that we “really bring the past to life” in a most enjoyable way.
